Which country is more powerful, Pakistan or Israel?

 

One has to be very careful in comparing the “power” of countries after all, in this case, Pakistan has a population of 212 million while Israel has a population of almost 9 million. Some people would end the debate there. All the same Israel has a higher GDP of $388 billion as against $264 billion (nominal) in Pakistan, so it needless to say the GDP per person of Israel is much higher than Pakistan. But does that make the whole country more powerful?

As regards armed forces. It is estimated that Pakistan has about 160 nuclear weapons and Israel 90 (both estimates). Does that really make any difference? Meanwhile the regular armed forces of Pakistan total 654,000 while Israel’s regular army is 170,000 but that is before counting reserve forces and relative quality of training and equipment.

So, all in all, the two countries cannot realistically be compared as to which is the most powerful and one has to wonder why it is necessary to even do so. They are simply different and one cannot imagine any practical rationale for making a comparison between them. It is impossible to imagine, for example, that these two countries alone would ever wage a war against each other without others being involved.

Israel has no direct disputes with Pakistan so why should there be a war. Don’t forget Jews are the people of the book so they’re our Ibrahamic Cousins if not brothers.

We in Pakistan do not agree with the treatment of the Palestinians by the Zionist state at all. We know very well what Jews had gone through not that long ago (shame on us humanity) and the ill-treatment Jews received over the centuries. But it was not the Palestinians that did this to them - so why they’re paying the highest price??? Jewish state need to show restraint and compassion to the Pall is exactly the one Jews when on the receiving end for so long have been themselves craving for.

As a Pakistani - i would say we’re living in a globalized world where all peoples are already a family with distances vanishing. We all need to learn to respect and love fellow human beings and have empathy as humans and not cling to the clan-ism and tribalism of medieval and ancient times.

21st century is the century of humanity and mankind on shared principles of respect, dignity, empathy and safety for all.
